Flight Training Australia (FTA), Queensland's largest flight training organisation is very proud to announce the appointment of Mr Tony Powell as the Chief Flying Instructor of Flight Training Australia, Archerfield.
Tony Powell is well known as one of the most experienced and qualified Instructors in the Australian flight training industry. His commitment and enthusiasm for flight training spans 25 years and over 12,500 flying hours.
Tony has considerable experience in the training of domestic and international airline cadet pilots having previously worked for the Hawker de Havilland Group in Adelaide, BAE Systems and Flight Training Adelaide. His roles have included Chief Flying Instructor and Manager of Instructor Development.
Tony is an independent Civil Aviation Safety Authority Approved testing officer and has held several international approvals for Examiner of Airmen, including;
- Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department
- South African Aviation Authority
Tony is highly respected for his expertise in the area of syllabus development, his understanding of adult learning styles including the training of adults who have English as second language, and his commitment to standards and staff standardisation.
Under Tony's direction, Flight Training Australia will introduce a new Flight Standards division which will place an emphasis on instructor professional development and standardisation.
