Classroom tuition provided for this rating covers the psychology of learning, teaching techniques, flight briefing of students and the method of flight instruction. The flying covers all syllabus topics for the training of students for the issue of the Private and Commercial licences. All training, including mutual practise is done with a senior Flight Training Australia instructor approved by CASA for instructor training. A prerequisite for the course is a Commercial Pilot Licence.
On satisfactory completion of the syllabus, students are flight checked by a CASA Approved Testing Officer for the Flight Instructor Rating. The flight check is approximately one and a half hours in duration and is conducted in the Cessna 152 or Piper PA38 Tomahawk.
The course fee provides for:
- 54 hours of flying
- All Flight Instructor time appropriate to the flying syllabus
- All pre-flight and post-flight briefings
- Initial Instructor Rating Test excluding ATO costs
The course fee is "all inclusive" and also covers the following training related items:
- Textbooks
A wide selection of accommodation is available, including homestay or shared at various rates on request. Also available is airport transfers.
