Flying Training

The Commercial Pliot Licence (CPL) training makes up the first part of your professional airline pilot training. Students will gain the licence qualifications to be able to establish a career within the comercial aviation industry.

This training beings at GFPT (General Flying Progress Test) where the basic skills and principles of flight are taught. Students then progress to the Private Pilot Licence (PPL) where the student begins to learn the skills and principles involved in cross country flying and navigation. The next stage is the CPL which takes the skills learnt in the GFPT and PPL training and applies them to a commercial environment preparing students for life after training in the commercial world.

On successful completion of the CPL training, students can apply to continue on to the Mulit-Engine Command Instrument Rating (MECIR) training.

The MECIR training expands from the skills learnt in the CPL training and incorporates them into instrument flight. This is an important and critical step towards a commercial aviation career as not all flying is conducted in visual conditions so being able to accurately fly with reference solely to the instruments is essential. Pilots having completed the MECIR have a deservedly high reputation among aviation companies of being efficient and safe professional pilots.

Upon completion CPL training, students may choose to undertake the Flight Instructor Rating (FIR). The FIR teaches both the practical and theoretical side to flight instruction looking at the principles and methods involved in flight instruction. Flight Training Australia's approach to the FIR is that upon completion of this rigourous course you will be a well rounded professional flight instructor. A worthy note is the FIR is highly regarded and respected amongst both airlines and other commercial aviation operators.
