When you first begin your training, you fly an aircraft with a "fixed pitch" propeller. This means the blade angle is pre determined. Simple and effective, it allows you to get on with the learning to fly. The manual propeller pitch control means an extra control in the aircraft - so that you can vary the blade angle in flight for greater efficiency and speed. But there is a bit more to it than just that. In addition there is also the retractable bit - wheels go up and down! Again more speed and efficiency.
On satisfactory completion of the syllabus, students are flight checked. The flight check is approximately two hours in duration and is conducted in the Cessna 172RG.
The course fee provides for:
2 hours of flying
All Flight Instructor time appropriate to the flying syllabus
All pre-flight and post-flight briefings
